Some say your life was cut short,
Others say it was just your time,
But in the midst of this confusion and feeling distraught,
Knowing that you’re definitely with Jesus eases our minds.
You walked in His pathways,
You spake in his love,
You showed us how we should live each day
Seeking to get closer to the one above.
Tracie you were a true Christian,
No one can ever label you as a hypocrite,
You were always quoting scriptures and applying them to your life,
All this compassion and commitment in this ever loving chick.
You were the true example of what a pastor’s daughter should be,
Never compromising your Christianity for the ills of this world,
Ensuring your place and prize in eternity.
Tracie, we’ll miss your humour, jokes and hilarious stories too,
We’ll miss how you talked about, “dis woman” , “dis man” and “these children”
Often referring to your Mom, Dad, Seon, Stephanie and recently Andrew,
We’ll miss teasing you about Andrew your first true boyfriend,
Commenting on how he was seemingly working wonders, observing your
emotional changes , never ever thinking this was the way it would end.
Though we will not get our driver’s license together,
I know when I reach you’ll teach me how to drive on those streets of gold.
We’ll be cruising on those streets doing whatever,
Not worrying about bumps, traffic and pot holes.
And if there isn’t any cricket or football in heaven,
I’m pretty sure there is now.
You must be already scoring goals for Tracie United,
Playing cricket and teaching the saints to hit sixes the way we know how.
And although we won’t grow old together,
And have to wear make up to prevent our faces from dropping off,
And though the dreams of our children being best friends may be gone forever,
I know you won’t want us crying because we are not supposed to be soft.
But it is hard not to, although we really try,
If you only understood how much you meant and impacted us
You’ll know how impossible it is not to shed a tear or cry,
And yeah, I don’t believe you are getting to actually see Jesus before me,
You forgot I told you elders first, And yet you broke open heaven’s gates spiraling
into eternity.
But you were never a follower, a leader you will always be.
Even though you were the youngest amongst us and we always considered you
the baby.
Personally I can say Tracie was truly my best friend,
My stress reliever and encourager, who stuck with me to the very end.
Always inspiring me to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor, even in her
death.
So I promise you, I’ll go abroad to learn how to be a proper one, I’ll try my very
best.
I’ll help improve our faulty health care system that often causes much heartache and
stress
I wish I could also become a lawyer but that’s another story I guess,
I know God is a just judge and he would definitely fix the rest.
So Tracie from your, family, friends, co-workers, classmates at SBCS and especially
Diego sec,
As you enter this new phase of life we wish you the very best.
Tracie we love you and we’ll keep you in our hearts,
Best Friends forever our souls will never part.
“I’ll see ya wen I see ya” is what we used to say,
So Tracie girl We’ll see ya wen we see ya on that sweet and much brighter day.
